Offered from a private collection is an authentic antique Daum Nancy art glass vase depicting aquilegia flowers, created by the renowned Daum Frères glassworks in Nancy, France, during the Art Nouveau period in 1910.

This elegant vase is a remarkable example of early 20th century French cameo glass artistry. Executed in multilayer artistic glass, the piece features a luminous frosted “cloud” ground with flowing transitions from warm milky yellow to rich amber-orange and earthy green tones near the base — a sophisticated color treatment characteristic of Daum’s celebrated vitrification techniques.

The surface is decorated with finely detailed aquilegia (columbine) flowers achieved through multiple stages of acid-etched cameo work combined with delicate hand-applied enamel painting. The layered floral composition demonstrates the refined naturalistic aesthetic that defined the French Art Nouveau movement.

The vase bears the original enamel signature:
“Daum Nancy France”
with the Cross of Lorraine mark, indicates production in 1910.

Condition:
Good antique condition overall with wear consistent with age and display. Colors remain vibrant and well preserved, some paintings are faded (enamel decoration). Upper rim and neck remain free from chips, cracks, or restoration. Interior shows natural mineral residue consistent with authentic age and use.There is one noticeable chip located at the connecting nodus between the body and the base (see photos). No spreading cracks are visible from the impacted area. Base remains stable and structurally sound.

Despite this isolated damage, the vase retains strong decorative and collector appeal and remains an excellent candidate for display.
