This is an exceptionally historically significant 22 carat gold dinar struck during the
turbulent Fourth Fitna (The Great Abbasid Civil War). Unlike
the standard anonymous dinars of the early caliphate, this reform-style issue
explicitly names the key power players of the era.

Features & Inscriptions:
- Governor Citation: Cites Al-Sari ibn
al-Hakam, the Governor of Egypt, whose name appears in the lower field
of the reverse.
- General Citation: Cites the legendary
General Tahir ibn al-Husayn, commander for Al-Ma'mun and
founder of the Tahirid Dynasty.
- Calligraphy: Features crisp,
early Kufic script.
- Obverse Center: "There is no god but
God alone, He has no partner."
- Reverse Center: "Muhammad is the
messenger of God," with "Al-Sari" and "Tahir"
inscribed below.
