I've been asked to sell things by a collector.
Offered here is a 19th Century German Dresden style jar urn.
Hand painted floral encrusted
19th century
Attributed to be made in Thuringian Germany
Porcelain egg shaped jar or urn.
Extremely high relief
Decorated in the Dresden style with hand painted and applied floral encrusted roses with children coming out of the sides
Child on the top contemplating their toes.
Unmarked except for a blue 3 and an impressed 45 on the base.
Children appear to come out the sides of the egg with one delightful image holding an umbrella. Another is holding a flower and the little boy seems to be holding an imaginary telescope.
The lid has some chips along the edge as shown.
I see no damage to the children.
The egg has a crack that appears to be a manufacturing flaw.
I noted 3 chips on the delicate flowers, but there may be more.
Measures 12" tall.
Highly detailed piece.
