Inscription on back reads; 

Andrew Berkley Port Captain in the Royal Navy died Jan 30th 1790 aged 49. 

A tablet to his memory is erected on the North Wall of Bath Abbey.

He was a significant figure during the American Revolutionary War, he commanded a fleet in the Battle of the Rice Boats in 1776 and was in command of HMS Prudent at the Battle of St Kitts in 1782  

Condition is good for age, there is some dirt behind the glass and a split to the frame which has been stapled which looks like an old repair.
