This is a blower motor designed for use with rare Aster Hobby live steam locomotives. It was used by inserting the nozzle into the chimney to assist in steam rising. The diameter of the chimney insertion section is 9.4mm.
The device powers on and the fan rotates when two AA batteries are inserted. Basic operation has been confirmed.
There was a small crack in the battery compartment that widened slightly when batteries were inserted, but this has been repaired.
The unit appears to be a purpose-built accessory for live steam hobbyists. Beyond the operational check described above, I do not have specialist knowledge of live steam equipment and cannot provide further technical details.
