Offered for sale is a beautiful early Buescher silver-plated cornet, manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana and dating to approximately 1908–1909. This is a wonderful example of Buescher's early craftsmanship, featuring the company's iconic engraved bell with the PAT. OCT. 29, 07 patent date surrounded by elaborate hand-engraved floral scrollwork.

These early Buescher instruments are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially examples that remain fully playable while retaining their original character.

Condition

• Silver plating displays attractive age patina with honest wear consistent with over a century of use.
• Minor dings and dents throughout that are typical for an instrument of this age.
• Bell has been professionally resoldered to the valve section at some point in its life.
• Leadpipe has received a previous repair but functions properly.
• All three valves move freely and operate smoothly.
• All tuning slides are free and functional.
• Original mother-of-pearl valve buttons are present and intact.
