This large ancient Roman bronze Sestertius was minted between 117-138AD during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. Hadrian is known for his extensive building projects like Hadrian's Wall and military campaigns, and this coin is a symbol of his legacy. Hadrian was emperor Trajan’s cousin and successor, who was a cultivated admirer of Greek civilization and who unified and consolidated Rome’s vast empire. He was the third of the so-called Five Good Emperors.
