This is an ASTER HOBBY JNR Series 20 “Blue Train” NAHANE 20-1 sleeping passenger car, produced in Gauge 1, approximately 1:32 scale, for 45 mm track. Main unit only.Rails are not included.
The JNR Series 20 was Japan’s first purpose-built limited express sleeping-car train and was used on famous overnight services such as the Asakaze, Sakura, and Hayabusa. The actual Series 20 trains were hauled by several well-known JNR locomotives, including the C62 steam locomotive and EF58, EF60, EF65, and EF66 electric locomotives, depending on the route and period.
This model is therefore an excellent passenger car for owners of ASTER JNR Gauge 1 locomotives, particularly the ASTER C62, and is also suitable for display or incorporation into a Japanese Blue Train consist.
The wheels show almost no evidence of running, and the model appears to have been carefully stored.
There are only a few very minor storage marks and light surface scuffs, mainly on the roof. Overall, the model remains in exceptionally clean and beautiful condition, especially considering its age.
