The M-Tas brand has developed a new concept of a personal protection system for a soldier - a gorget with ballistic packages 1A for the M-Tas Cuirass QRS plate carrier. The product is a compact removable module that provides all-round anti-fragmentation protection for the neck and upper back of a soldier.

The module consists of two elements with Velcro fasteners. The front section is designed to protect the neck from the front, and the shoulder section provides protection for the shoulders, trapezium and the back of the neck.

The neck section is attached to the Molle interface of the chest panel of the CUIRASS QRS plate carrier, and the rear protection is attached to the shoulder part of the plate carrier using Velcro straps, which are fixed with a fastener for fastening around the shoulder straps of the body armor. There are two such Velcro flaps on each side.

The module is designed in such a way as to provide a continuous ballistic overlap from the upper edge of the chest plate to the back, capturing additional space on the sides of the shoulder straps.

Significant efforts of the designers were aimed at giving the throat the most ergonomic shape for comfortable operation. Such a design does not conflict with other elements of the equipment and provides a sufficient degree of freedom when moving the head even with a helmet. Also, special attention was paid to the anatomical shape and low weight of the product when developing the gorget. Thanks to this, the gorget allows you to maintain mobility and ergonomics of the entire set of equipment.

If necessary, you can use only the shoulder section of the module, and the neck protection can be fixed in a folded form in front of the plate carrier. If necessary, the front element of the gorget can be removed for a more convenient insertion of weapons, but in this case it will cease to perform the protective functions of the front of the neck.

The module is made of Cordura 500D - a super-strong fabric that is resistant to abrasion and high loads. On the inside of the shoulder part, a damping mesh is used, which reduces the likelihood of pressure and provides good ventilation.

The gorget is equipped with ballistic packages that protect against ricochets and fragments. Made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and comply with STANAG 2920 with a V-50 anti-fragmentation resistance index of about 614.5m/s.

To understand the analogy with bulletproof resistance, an armor package with a similar composition corresponds to class 1a (9x18 APS) according to DSTU 4103-2002 and class 1 (9x18 APS, 9x19 Luger) according to the new DSTU 8782:2018 (Class 1a, 1 refers to the equivalent in composition, which is tested on standard samples of 400x400mm. Therefore, the resulting injury may differ on samples of smaller size and shape).
