The Takamine Elite F100 is an early 1972 Made in Japan acoustic from Takamine’s vintage Elite series — a period when Japanese builders were producing beautifully crafted instruments with remarkable attention to detail and tone.
Built during the early golden era of Japanese guitar making, the F100 reflects Takamine’s traditional craftsmanship with a comfortable folk / OM-size body, making it an excellent choice for both fingerstyle and light strumming players.
The guitar features a spruce top paired with Mahogany back and sides, producing a clear, warm tone with strong midrange presence and articulate highs. The smaller OM-style body gives it a balanced response and excellent playability, especially for fingerstyle or recording.
This guitar has been fully cleaned, polished, and professionally set up, with a comfortable low action of approximately 2.0mm (low E) / 1.5mm (high E) at the 12th fret, making it extremely easy and enjoyable to play.
Upgrades include a bone nut & Saddle and ebony bridge pins, helping improve sustain, clarity, and overall tonal response.
Condition is very good for a 50+ year old vintage instrument. There are minor cosmetic signs of age and light surface marks consistent with normal use, but there are no cracks, structural repairs, or major issues. The neck is straight, frets remain in good shape, and the guitar plays beautifully.
