Photos from the collection of George Washington Polk Jr., born 13 May 1889, Died 27 July 1976. He was a Colonel in the US Army Air Corps/US Air Force and served in both WWI and WWII. He spent the early part of his carreer in the midwest where he was a civil engineer by trade until his enlistment in the US Army Air Corps in 1917, after his service in WW1 he was stationed in the early to mid1920's in Hawaii and then the Canal Zone in the late 20's, he moved to Ohio in the 1930's serving as a US Army Air Corp instructor before being stationed in Alaska during WWII and finally settling in Southern California. Over his career he flew hundreds of domestic and international mapping and aerial survey missions and amassed a massive collection of photgraphs from around the world. We recently purchased the estate of one of his relatives who kept and preserved some of his history including these particular albums. SHIPPING POLICY - PLEASE READ
We DO combine shipping - we will automatically combine multiple orders shipping the same day into one package whenever possible. You will receive a REFUND of excess shipping charges AFTER we purchase the shipping label for your order based on excess charges you paid over our cost, you do not need to do anything, we typically refund excess shipping charges the same day your order is shipped.
Please check shipping options for the most cost effective method, or your preferred method of shipping when you check out (PO Boxes can only be sent via USPS). There are typically 2 to 4 different methods of shipping available to you on orders weighing over 1 pound or larger than 12? x 12? in size (USPS, UPS & FedEx), depending on your location there can be significant cost differences available to you.
NOTE: This DOES NOT apply to International Orders - International orders are handled through the eBay International Shipping program and we only ship to the US based eBay freight forwarding provider who manages the international shipping logistics separately.
We ship orders Monday through Friday (Except Postal Holidays) - Handling time is 1 business day or less. Cutoff time for same-day shipment of orders is 12:00 PM Pacific Time. Orders in before cutoff time ship the same day, all other orders ship the next business day.
