These late-1990s Meanies plush toys were designed as parody collectibles during the height of the Beanie Baby and novelty plush craze. This “Twisted Toys” group specifically spoofs popular toy trends of the era, with characters clearly riffing on recognizable toy-culture icons such as electronic pets, plush collectibles, and kids’ novelty toys. They have the same oddball, sarcastic, gross-out humor that made the Meanies line stand apart from traditional cute collectible plush.
