In 1985, the Dinobots gained popularity with their innovative approach, adding a group of five mecha-dinosaurs to the Autobot army, which had previously consisted mainly of members that transformed into cars. Now, Grimlock, their commander, returns in a completely new design as a Missing Link figure, boasting numerous additional functions.

Grimlock transforms from a mecha-type Tyrannosaurus Rex into a robot. While retaining the die-cast construction in some parts, both forms now feature movable joints, allowing for free posing.

Furthermore, the colorful mechanical details, previously represented by stickers in the original toy, are now recreated with three-dimensional sculpting and meticulous coloring. The included weapon, a "saber," features a silver-plated finish reminiscent of the Diaclone era, and its sharp tip is recreated using hard plastic. Two handheld guns, a "double laser gun" and a "missile launcher," are also included. The missile launcher's missiles have been removed for imaginative play. Similar to the C-11 Delta Magnus, a female "human" figure is included, and the cockpit hatch on the dinosaur's back can be opened to allow her to board. A "secret emblem" is also attached to the robot body. When warmed with your fingers, the legion mark will appear. The robot's back is equipped with a joint hole for a separately sold stand, allowing it to be displayed in action poses. The package illustration is a newly drawn illustration inspired by the time, and a collection card is also included.
