On April 5, 2011, outfielder Andruw Jones made his official New York Yankees debut and hit a home run in his very first at-bat with the team against the Minnesota Twins.

Game Highlights & Results

The Debut Home Run: Making his first start in left field for the Yankees, Jones launched a solo home run off Twins pitcher Brian Duensing in the bottom of the second inning.

The Final Score: Despite the home run and another three-run blast by Mark Teixeira, the Minnesota Twins won the game 5-4 in 10 innings at Yankee Stadium.

Deciding Play: Joe Mauer hit a go-ahead, RBI single in the top of the 10th inning to seal the victory for Minnesota, handing the Yankees their second loss of the 2011 season.

Pitching Decision: Twins reliever Matt Capps earned the win, Joe Nathan secured the save, and Yankees reliever Boone Logan took the loss. CC Sabathia had a strong starting performance for New York, striking out nine over seven innings.
