Up for sale is an exceptional piece of WWII-era Imperial Japanese military history. This authentic, personal soldier’s commemorative cigarette case is intricately engraved and enameled with iconic wartime iconography and the absolute moral code of the Imperial military forces.

The front face of the case features a beautifully preserved, stylized design reading from right to left, top to bottom. The center features a cherry blossom cloud outline housing a condensed engraving of the Five Articles of the Imperial Rescript to Soldiers and Sailors (Gunjin Chokuyu). This historic text, originally issued by Emperor Meiji in 1882, dictated the five core precepts every soldier was required to live by: Loyalty, Decorum, Valor, Fidelity, and Frugality.

One of my favorite pieces, because I dont think it was ever used. Still displays VERY well. Just swapping some stuff around.
