Condition Grade: Near Fine
Exterior: Spines are tight and the gilt is brilliant. No rubbing to the buckram or the paper sides. Corners are sharp and unbumped.
Text Block: The edges of the text block are bright white and pristine. No foxing, toning, or dust-soiling observed. Internal pages are clean, white, and crisp.
Structural Condition: Binding is firm and square. Hinges are perfect.
Slipcase: The original orange paper-covered slipcase is in Very good condition. It is structurally solid with no splitting. Only the most minute surface marks from shelf storage.

Fine: As new; no visible flaws.
Near Fine: Approaching Fine but with very minor signs of handling.
Very Good (VG): A clean, tight copy with only light shelf wear.
Good (G): The standard used condition. Complete and structurally sound, but with visible aesthetic wear (e.g. sunning, rubbing, or mottling).
Fair: A heavily worn copy. May have damp staining, shaken hinges, or significant exterior damage, but remains complete unless noted.
Poor: A "reading copy" only. May have detached boards or significant damage.
