A wonderful find! Vintage 1948 Olds Studio Trombone with Original Lifton Case!  

 Yes, there is cosmetic tarnish as shown (prefer to think of it as a nicely aged patina!), but the instrument should be fully playable with freely moving slides. 

Might respond to a cosmetic cleanup, but that’s beyond our pay grade and we wouldn’t wanna make a mess of it unintentionally.

 The instrument seems reasonably well cared for in that really no dents on it and the case is surprisingly clean.
