H.A. Litchfield signed RAFM HA(SP8) Air Cmdre Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith MC AFC 50th ann First Trans-Pacific Flight 9 Jun 78 RAF FDC. H.A. Litchfield was a prominent navigator who flew with Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in the Southern Cross, notably involved in early aviation milestones such as the first flight across the Tasman Sea. He is associated with historic aviation, including signed RAF covers commemorating these flights. Aviation Significance: Litchfield acted as a navigator for Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and was part of the team, along with Charles Ulm and T.H. McWilliam, during historic Pacific-area aviation feats.
