Title: Omerta Author: Mario Puzo Publisher: Random House ISBN: 0-375-50254-8 Genre: Fiction / Crime / Historical Fiction

A first edition advance reader's edition of Omerta by Mario Puzo, the final chapter in his landmark Mafia trilogy following The Godfather and The Last Don, issued prior to the June 2000 hardcover retail release. Labeled "Advance Uncorrected Reader's Edition · Not for Sale" on the back cover, which also notes a first printing of 500,000 copies and promotion that included advertising in the New York Times and Los Angeles Times, nationwide CNN airport network television spots, and a major 12-book floor display. The back cover frames this explicitly as the concluding installment of Puzo's Mafia trilogy and notes a forthcoming Miramax film adaptation. Advance copies of Puzo's final works are consistently sought by Godfather collectors.
