A rare and charming circular medallion from the Revolutionary period, featuring the profile portrait of Count of Mirabeau. One of the major figures and legendary orators of the early Revolution.

This high-quality profile is in keeping with the tradition of physiognomic portraits, very fashionable at the end of the 18th century. The subject stands out against a beautifully fresh brick-colored background.

This engraving is housed in a mahogany-stained wooden frame and protected by its convex glass pane, known as an "ox-eye" glass.
