In 2006,the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe,Gideon Gono,announced that the government had printed 21 trillion Zimbabwean dollars in order to acquire foreign currency to pay off debts owed to the International Monetary Fund.Since then, many novelty banknotes with even higher,and sometimes imaginary,figures such as "Dumillion",“Zettalilion”,"Quadringentillion",“Myrillion” and “Yottalillion” were put into circulation,but they were worthless and were not printed by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.The banknotes are often gold and silver foil and was made in plastic material.
