Originally released in 1999, H.M.S. Fable marked Shack’s return with a sweeping, melodic and emotionally rich record that blended alternative rock, acoustic textures and the band’s signature Liverpool songwriting. The album remains a cult favourite of the late‑90s indie era, celebrated for its orchestral arrangements, heartfelt lyricism and Michael Head’s unmistakable vocal delivery. This 2024 digipak reissue on London Records presents the album in a refreshed edition with updated packaging, offering a high‑quality revisit of one of the band’s most acclaimed works.
