This auction features a professionally hand built resin model of the 1934 Mercedes Benz 150H, hand built by MA Scale Models, in 1:43 Resin Diecast. This is considered to be first rear engine (mid-engine) Mercedes, and possibly the first ever rear engine car.
The rear-engine configuration of the 150H allowed for wind-cheating bodywork. Unusual touches, such as the single high-beam “cyclops” headlamp and the twin spare tires mounted behind the rear-hinged doors (to save luggage space), were blended with traditional sports-car elements like the slightly swept V windshield and the gently tapering boattail. Some called it beautiful, others called it ungainly, and all agreed it was distinctive. The mid-rear engine configuration and short wheelbase ruled out any possibility of a back seat, while the 16-gallon gas tank mounted in the car’s nose ate into already scarce luggage space. And the price, at 6,600 deutschemarks ($3950), was nearly double that of a basic 130 sedan. Probably no more than 20 150H’s were ever built, with only 2 surviving today.
Historic antique auto has full interior with leather-look seats, convertible top, spare tires and distinctive paint job. Professionally hand built car displays well and should make a great addition to your vintage 1:43 Diecast Mercedes model collection.

**PLEASE NOTE: This week we are again selling off cars from a recently purchased large (very large) RESIN diecast collection (one of the largest in America). All the cars we are selling, for the next several weeks, were kept securely in showcases, but the original owner, not having the space, did not keep most of his boxes. Most do generally have their display cases. Some are loose. Many of these are very hard to find cars, short runs and no longer in production items. They come from manufacturers like BBR, MARSH, AMR/Ruf, Renaissance, DVA, Illustra and LookSmart, as well as specialty makers like MA Models, MR Modelcraft, MCM, Nestor, HECO, Contact and others. Many are extremely limited (1/6, 1/10, 1 of 20, etc), with most from the "Golden Era" of hand built 1:43 scale models. Check out our Seller's Other Items, and be sure to bookmark us, or click the eBay Save This Seller link, so you don’t miss any of these great cars over the coming months.

We try to always be honest with our descriptions, fast with our shipping and secure with our packing. Unfortunately, WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO COMBINE SHIPPING for multiple wins on many larger items, due to the new DIM pricing by the USPS, it is now more expensive to combine large scale cars, than to send them individually!! (Only the USPS… sigh), but please be sure to check our other auctions. We love your business.
