Matte Green Pitcher

A fine original arts & crafts era circa 1905
pottery pitcher or vase by the Hampshire Pottery.

The piece is covered in the pottery's
celebrated matte green glaze
with thick drips and frothy
almost crystalline striations.

(Just compare this iconic glaze to other
examples of green Hampshire ware).

Impressed HAMPSHIRE on base.

Size: 8" high x 4 1/4" wide

There is a tiny glaze chip at the base edge
beneath the handle, probably a result
of the factory grinding to level the
thick glaze at the base rim.

Otherwise the pot is in fabulous condition
with a superb matte glaze and no
fractures or repairs.
