About the Stamps
This issue is made up of six stamps of unconventional food plants (PANC): roselle, tannia, toochache plant, mangarito, Barbados gooseberry and malabar spinach. Each stamp captures the unique beauty of each plant and celebrates the biodiversity and cultural richness of the PANCs. The style of the arts was inspired by Impressionism, with violet shadows. The stamps also bear, in microletters, the popular and scientifi c name of the illustrated plant. The technique used was watercolor.
