This is an official lot of seven (7) vintage NASA press materials and educational lithographs issued directly out of the John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida, dated September 1973.
Instead of standard rocket launches, this unique educational media package features rare "Advanced Space System Concepts" artwork alongside geological educational diagrams from the era when NASA was heavily pitching its new satellite programs (like Landsat) for Earth observation and disaster monitoring.
Official NASA Press Release Sheet: Serial code 116-KSC-73PC-425, dated Sept 7, 1973. Features official typed typewriter-style text detailing the collision of Africa and North America and the formation of the Appalachian Mountains.
"Coastal Anti-Collision Passive Radar" Concept Illustration: Striking retro-futuristic art by artist R. Regan depicting a massive 5-mile orbital cross-scanning antenna aiding maritime shipping.
Geodesic / Multibeam Satellite Art: Vintage illustration depicting a massive spherical satellite grid projecting multi-beam tracking signals over the Earth's continents.
Natural Disaster / Earthquake Illustration: Highly dramatic, stylized 1970s graphics showcasing an earthquake disaster with a collapsing city, used by NASA to illustrate the real-world need for satellite disaster-monitoring.
Continental Drift Cross-Section Diagram: Educational lithograph showing a geological cross-section of plate tectonics between North America, the Atlantic Ocean, and Africa.
"The World" Continental Drift Progression Diagram: Graphic showing the alignment of the Earth's continents from 200 million years ago, today, and 10 million years into the future.
Global Tectonic Plates Map: A clean, 1970s infographic map outlining the Earth's major tectonic plates, ridge axes, and subduction zones.
Authenticity: 100% original vintage NASA publications from 1973. These are genuine archival prints on vintage paper stock (featuring the "This Paper Manufactured By Kodak" watermark on the back of the press sheet), NOT modern reprints.
Size: Standard official NASA lithograph size (approx. 8 inches by 10 inches).
Condition: Very good vintage condition considering they are over 50 years old. Sharp corners, bold blacks and grays, minimal edge wear, and light natural paper aging on the reverse sides. Please review the high-resolution photos for exact condition details.
This is a fantastic collection for vintage space program collectors, geology educators, or fans of 1970s retro-futuristic art.
Shipping: Shipped flat and securely in a rigid mailer with tracking to preserve condition. Combined shipping is available if you buy multiple items. Good luck!
