ASM2464PDX (USB4 graphics dock)
It is recommended to contact computer customer service before purchasing to confirm whether the lightning interface or USB4 interface firmware of the device has been adapted to the ASM2464 controller.
If customer service cannot provide a clear response or indicate that no adaptation has been made, there is a high probability of compatibility issues.
JHL9480 (Thunderbolt 5 Universal Graphics Dock)
The Thunderbolt 5 interface is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, and USB4, but also depends on the compatibility of the host firmware with the JHL9480 controller.
It is recommended to confirm before purchasing whether the firmware of the host's Thunderbolt interface is the latest version and has been adapted to Thunderbolt 5 devices.
2、 Firmware adaptation instructions
Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and Thunderbolt 5 interfaces all have host firmware, which is provided by computer or motherboard manufacturers (OEM) for updates.
For some desktop motherboards, NUCs, and other devices, OEM officials will periodically release USB4 or Thunderbolt interface firmware updates to enhance compatibility with docking stations.
The graphics card docking station itself will also be optimized for compatibility through firmware updates, but compatibility needs to be updated synchronously between the host and the docking station, not solely determined by the docking station.
3、 Special note
If using other brands of computers, please make sure to confirm the firmware update status on the host side to avoid compatibility issues affecting normal use.
