In September 1944, 767 South Staffords landed behind enemy lines in Holland as part of the

greatest airborne invasion of all time.

Nine days later124 survivors returned.  This book for the first time tells and its part in the 

 Battle of Arnhem, told through archival materials from the Regimental Museum, and interviews

with veterans and their families.

Of the five Victoria Crosses awarded for the Battle of Arnhem, two went to the men of the

 South Staffordshire Regiment
