ANTIQUE SCHAFER & VATER
"SEPTEMBER MORN" FIGURAL FLASK #6776

Available for purchase is a RARE porcelain figural flask made by Schafer & Vater in Volkstedt-Rudolstadt, Germany during the 1910s or early 1920s. Schafer & Vater was founded in 1890 and was best known for manufacturing whimsical and comical figurines, match holders, flasks, creamers, and other porcelain items. This flask features the cheeky, iconic imagery of "September Morn", a famous and once-scandalous painting by Paul Chabas of a nude woman standing in the water. Surrounding the bathing woman, Schafer & Vater added the smiling faces of 4 men who are seemingly admiring the view. Small flasks like this one were popular before and during Prohibition when hidden or novelty "giveaway" flasks were used for sneaking spirits.

This figural flask stands about 6" tall and measures approximately 2 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" deep. It has a handle at the top and its original blue stopper. The back side is marked with the mold number "6776". The underside of the base is unmarked, which is common for Schafer & Vater items. Although unmarked, this flask is well documented as a Schafer & Vater piece. I purchased this flask at a recent estate sale, along with several other Schafer & Vater items (please see my other listings). This piece is guaranteed to be an antique Schafer & Vater flask from the early 20th century. Please check my positive feedback and buy with confidence from a trusted seller.

Condition of this figural Schafer & Vater flask is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The stopper and cork are intact. Someone wrapped an old rubber band around the cork to help keep it snug (I left this in place). Overall, this whimsical flask looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I'm confident you'll be very pleased with this purchase.

If you collect miniature bottles or figural flasks, particularly those made by Schafer & Vater, don't miss your opportunity to purchase this offering. This particular flask is quite RARE and seldom offered for sale on eBay or elsewhere online. My BUY IT NOW price of $284 is a bargain for this scarce flask. So, buy it now before someone else beats you to the deal!
