A Rare Piece of Sino-Japanese War History


Up for sale is an authentic, unit-marked Chinese Dadao (Great Saber) sourced from a recent estate. This pattern of sword became the symbol of Chinese resistance against the Japanese Imperial Army during the 1930s and 40s.

The brass guard is hand-stamped on both sides with significant military designations:




​The 13th Route Army played a complex and vital role during the warlord era and the subsequent united front against the Japanese invasion. Unit-marked Dadaos are considerably rarer than standard unmarked infantry models and are highly prized by collectors of East Asian militaria.
