For sale is the 1993 Flamingo paperback edition of Alistair MacLeod's The Lost Salt Gift of Blood, collecting the Cape Breton short stories that established MacLeod as one of Canada's most celebrated writers. Praised by Alice Munro and Margaret Atwood, MacLeod's work — set in the Gaelic-speaking communities of Nova Scotia — is widely considered among the finest short fiction in the English language. This Flamingo printing predates the omnibus Island: Collected Stories (2000) and was printed in Australia by Griffin Press, Adelaide. MacLeod died in 2014.
