PROPHECY STONE

From the Sahara Desert in Egypt 

A prophecy stone is a rare iron oxide pseudomorph stone where Limonite and Hematite has replaced Marcasite and Pyrite. It has a modular, spiky type shape. It is only found in the White Desert (Sahara el Beyda) in Western Egypt. Millions of years ago this desert was an ocean floor and the white rock is the remains of marine microorganisms. Over time wind and sand erosion have made the desert look like it is from another planet. The white desert is a unique place, nothing like you will find anywhere else in the world. Coincidentally, Libyan desert Glass is also found in this area.

Prophecy Stones are very popular with New Age users because it is believed to help you see into the future. It lets you vision multiple different possible future paths and determine which of the various courses of action is best for attaining the best outcome. Creative and sexual visions are particularly strong.  Prophecy stones are also very grounding and calming and are referred to as being “One with the earth”.   The general way new age practitioners use Prophecy stones is by placing the stone in front of you and closing your eyes to meditate and allow your brain to focus on your current or future projects. Meditating outside is sometimes preferred (Especially under the stars or full moon) so as to fully connect with Mother Nature and all her life forms.

Even if you don't believe in the new age uses, prophecy stones make for  a nice addition to a rock and crystal collection because it is a bit unusual looking. Every rock collection and new age practitioner needs a prophecy stone.
