This book set contains Volumes 6, 7 & 8 of the 8-book series Public Papers of the Secretaries General of the United Nations. These books cover the tenure of U Thant as the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Volume 6 spans 1961-1964 and was published in 1976. Volume 7 spans 1965-1967 and was published in 1976. Volume 8 spans 1968-1971 and was published in 1977. 

All three books contain a photocopy of a personalized letter that has been tipped into the inside cover of the books. This letter is from one of the editors, Andrew Cordier, to Mr. John D. Telfer who worked at The State University of New York-Buffalo. 

Note: Volumes 2 and 3 are in a separate listing (397592859947) and contain the same letter photocopy, but Volume 2 also has Mr. Telfers name and address stamped in it.
