BIOGRAPHY: María Guadalupe "Lupe"   Vélez (1908 – 1944) was a Mexican actress, singer, and dancer during the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema. She was best known for her comedy and “spitfire” roles. After marrying and divorcing Tarzan screen actor Johnny Weissmuller and an intense illicit affair with Gary Cooper, she committed suicide (while pregnant) with an overdose of Seconal at the age of 36.
