Originally released in 1983, The Hurting was the debut album from Tears for Fears—an emotionally charged, synth-driven masterpiece that introduced the world to Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith’s introspective songwriting. Featuring the band’s first three UK Top 5 singles—“Mad World,” “Change,” and “Pale Shelter”—the album captured the angst and vulnerability of a generation.
This 40th anniversary edition is remastered at Abbey Road Studios using half-speed mastering by Miles Showell, pressed on 180 gram vinyl for superior fidelity. Housed in a deluxe sleeve with mock obi strip, it includes a printed inner sleeve with lyrics and credits, plus a gold foil-stamped mastering certificate.
