• Condition:   This bottle is in good shiny condition.  It has traces of content residue and age wear, PATINA, from aging and use, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.  PLEASE see pictures to get idea of overall appearance.  
  

• Age:  An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. late 1800's.

Piso's cough medicine was originally concocted as a cure for consumption, and CONSUMPTION is defined as a wasting disease of the lungs and it was a common affliction of miner's back in the 1800's.  Once governmental regulations set it, it became known as Piso's MEDICINE.  These come in green, aqua, and amber, the amber are the newer machine made bottles.  Yet the green ranges from a dark forest-green to a light screaming yellow color, and this one is an emerald green.  Interestingly enough, the Piso medicine contained CANNABIS INDICA in it, as the label on this one shows.  At one time we possessed a labeled example of this bottle and we made color copies of the label to substantiate the claim that this product contained CANNABIS, Cannabis Indica.   Today we know Cannabis as Marihuana / MARIJUANA.  This bottle's label is a facsimile of that label, a high quality reproduced copy.    And as you can see, one of the base ingredients of this medicine was "EXTRACT CANNABIS INDICA 1/2 GRAIN PER OUNCE".   It also contained "CHLOROFORM 5 MINIMS PER OUNCE".  YES it is true that Piso's medicine did have CANNABIS INDICA in it.  Even without the label, the GREEN color make this a nice looking bottle, check it out!
