The Robertshaw 10-211 is a precision-machined LP/propane pilot orifice with a 0.011" bore, designed to slip into 3/16" or 1/4" pilot inlet tubing on Robertshaw 1820 and 1830 Series pilot assemblies. Its job is to meter the exact amount of propane that flows into the pilot burner head, producing the small, stable flame that holds the thermocouple hot and proves to the gas valve that it's safe to release main-burner gas.

LP and natural-gas pilots use different orifice sizes because LP has roughly 2.5x the heating value per cubic foot of natural gas. Run a natural-gas orifice on propane and the pilot soots up and starves the thermocouple. The 0.011" 10-211 is calibrated specifically for LP service in the 1820/1830 platform.

Common failures: orifice plugged with spider web, hard-water condensate, or rust scale from the supply line (no pilot light at all); wrong-size orifice installed during prior service (weak yellow pilot, won't hold the thermocouple); orifice missing entirely after gas-valve replacement. A fresh OEM 0.011" 10-211 restores a tight blue pilot flame and reliable thermocouple millivolt output.
