The IMV-603 is a solenoid-actuated dual water valve. House water (20–120 PSI) enters the single inlet and is held back by a spring-loaded diaphragm at each of two independent outlets. When the refrigerator's icemaker or door-dispenser control board energizes one of the valve's 120V AC coils, the solenoid lifts the diaphragm and allows roughly 130 cc of water through in 7.5 seconds — precisely metered for ice-cube fill or dispenser pour.

Each outlet has an independent coil, so the icemaker and dispenser operate without cross-feed. A pre-installed inlet screen and flow washer regulate flow and protect against debris. The polypro body resists corrosion and mineral deposits common in hard-water service.

Failure modes: open coil (no water at all), weakened solenoid (slow fill, partial ice cubes), clogged inlet screen (zero or trickling flow), or stuck diaphragm (continuous leak). Replacing the valve with a genuine Robertshaw IMV-603 restores factory-spec operation.
