A sharp, kinetic burst of late‑70s new wave energy, White Music captures XTC at their most angular, eccentric and inventive. Originally released in 1978, the album blends jerky rhythms, punk‑leaning urgency and off‑kilter pop hooks, driven by Andy Partridge’s frenetic guitar work and Colin Moulding’s melodic basslines.
This 2022 Ape House reissue presents the album on high‑fidelity black vinyl, housed in a sealed cardboard sleeve and restored with enhanced clarity while preserving the raw, wiry character of the original recordings. A foundational release for fans of indie, new wave and art‑pop.
