The Seth Thomas Vintage Antique Mantle Clock is a beautiful piece of American craftsmanship from the early 20th century. This rectangular clock features a classic analog display with a wind-up power source, complete with a pendulum, moving parts, and chimes. The clock is made of wood with a brown finish, showcasing the intricate details and craftsmanship of the era. Perfect for adding a touch of nostalgia to any living room, this antique clock is a timeless and charming piece for collectors or those looking to enhance their home decor with a piece of history.
I’ve been working on this clock on and off for about 4 years. It’s a bastardized clock with all parts made by SETH THOMAS. The wood case has been sanded and stained by myself. The mechanical movement is a single ding that strikes on the hour and half hour. The clock face is from another clock as well. All four parts of the clock are from different clocks.
I’ve had this clock running since I decided a few months ago to get everything I can fixed and moved out… it keeps time and dongs when it should. It comes with a key that fits the arbors and turns the spring to wind up. This is a very old mechanism so great care must be taken when winding. It needs to be wound slowly and methodically. The springs on these mechanisms break easily if wound too quickly and too tight.
*Comes with KEY AND PENDULUM.
