Tiny music mechanism similar to what can be found inside a music box. 1 ¾” wide (not including the handle). 1 ½“ deep. 2” tall (including the handle). To hear the music, just turn the handle. Children (and grownups, too) can enjoy seeing how the little metal tabs on the rotating drum pluck the little bars. They’ll learn that the shorter the little bar, the higher the note’s pitch.
Original box included! The side of the box reads “Kleine Nachtmusik” (German for “A Little Night Music,” by Wolfgang Mozart, which is the music that plays when the handle is rotated.) The top of the box reads, “Der Kleinste Leierkaster Der Welt,” (“the world’s smallest street organ”).
At the age of 70, I still have sweet memories of playing with this as a little girl. It’s still in excellent condition! No bent tabs or any other damage. Box shows slight wear as expected for its age, but is overall still in very good condition!
Photos 1- 4 show the item from different angles. Photo 5 shows how the box was constructed to allow a prospective customer to move the handle and play the music without opening the box. The last photo shows the bottom of the box, which came with a heart on it. There are 2 holes in the base that would allow you to screw it onto something to keep it firmly in place, if you’d like.
A great gift!
