This is a kozuka made during the Edo period.
The handle of the kozuka features a beautifully engraved peacock, a bird celebrated for its beauty in Japan. The feathers are highlighted with gold inlay, making this a truly stunning piece!
The blade features an engraved signature (mei), and the iron has a rich, aged character that suggests it is forged steel. Both the handle and the blade are each considered to be of substantial value in their own right!
The blade is engraved with a signature (mei) that reads "Kunishige" (國重).

Shipping
