Hammered silver-plated timbale designed by Jean Després, France, vintage 1950s. This French modernist piece features a softly flared tulip-shaped form enhanced by a hand-hammered surface and delicate beaded borders at the rim and base. Originally conceived as a timbale, it lends itself to a variety of uses today, including as a small vase, catchall, pencil holder, or decorative tabletop object.
