  • Description: A nice large bronze medal from 1946. This is the Society of Medalists 33rd issue medal. The medal, known as World Peace, has the image of peace in flowing tunic hovering on a cloud with the world globe in the background on the obverse. The obverse has the words "WORLD PEACE" along the edge surrounding the design. The reverse has the image of a dove perched on an olive branch resting on a book, representing knowledge and education, with the words "PEACE ON EARTH AMONG MEN OF GOOD WILL" along the edge surrounding the image. There is also the mark JK (c) below the image. The medal has a nice toned bronze finish. The edge of the medal is marked "THE SOCIETY OF MEDALISTS THIRY-THIRD ISSUE-1946 JOSEPH KISELLEWSKI SCULPTOR". The medal comes in its original issue box with pamphlet describing the medal. A great looking and very interesting medal to add to your collection. New York on the inside with the words "THE SOCIETY OF MEDALISTS" on the outside of the lid. There is also the notation JK (c) below the design on the reverse.

  • Condition: The medal is in excellent condition and if it was a coin, I would grade it uncirculated\. The medal has no wear with a minimum of surface marks, if any. The medal has a small shallow ding to the edge, which is difficult to see, but is there. Thus is a great looking medal that is problem free. The box and the pamphlet are also in very good condition.
