Recorded in Nashville over seven days in 1969, Oar stands as the only solo album by Alexander “Skip” Spence, co‑founder of Moby Grape and one of the most enigmatic figures of the late‑60s psychedelic era. Spence performed every instrument himself, creating a raw, intimate and deeply idiosyncratic record that blends psychedelic folk, fractured blues and fragile, dreamlike songwriting. Long regarded as a cult classic, Oar captures a singular creative moment from an artist who would soon withdraw from the music world. This limited edition pressing arrives on crystal clear vinyl.
