These beautiful antique silver pendants are part of a collection acquired by lacewinginterior from both Bundi and Pushkar in Rajasthan on a recent sourcing trip. All genuine, original worn tribal pieces.

This body of these pendants would have been beaten from a single sheet of high grade silver over a bronze die, or stamp, before being embellished in an artisan workshop, a rich tradition that continues to this day. SEE SIMILAR IN THE LAST IMAGE. NOW SOLD. 

We are presenting two sets of these amulets strung on new sacred saffron and vermillion threads. One as a trio, IMAGES 1 - 10,  one as a pair IMAGES 12 - 23. They are shown together in image 11.  

Originally worn by tribal Hindu devotees, they carry images of revered Hindu deities and luminaries considered of great importance to tribal people. These smaller Amulet pendants would traditionally have found favour with women, with  larger amulets worn by men.

Although no great intrinsic value in the silver due to their diminutive size, we are presented these as very pretty decorative items. Originating from the tribal areas of the Thar Desert, and the Aravali Hills, artefacts such as this still bear an earthly charm, and reflect a time-honoured integrity.
