This is a woodblock print of "Spring Snow (Kyoto Kiyomizu)," a masterpiece by Kawase Hasui, a master of Shin-hanga (New Prints).
This popular work lyrically depicts the snow-covered stage of Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Hasui's characteristic beautiful indigo color.
【Regarding the Printing Date (Important)】
The following mark can be seen in the margin at the bottom left of the work.
* Publisher: Teiichi Doi (Doi Print Shop)
* Engraver: Harada
* Printer: Seki
Based on the above combination of seals, this work is not a pre-war first printing, but a genuine woodblock print made later using the original woodblocks. (※This is not an offset printed poster. Ink bleeding to the back is also visible.)
[Condition]
* Print (sheet) condition:
There is age-related yellowing, brown stains, and warping.
* Framing condition:
It is in its original frame, but the frame has some wear and minor scratches, and the backing board shows signs of deterioration such as tape residue.
