19" Very Large Mother of Pearl and Semi Precious Gemstones Brass Stand Vintage Compass.
A high-end decorative craft piece, where each nation is hand inlaid and cut from a different stone. The lines of latitude and longitude are made with thin wires of brass or gilded metal inlaid on the surface. The structure is a solid three legged base in brass with a graduated 'horizon' ring.
The compass, a distinctive detail, is integrated into the base of the stand and works well.
Structure and globe in excellent condition with a few blemishes to the brass and has a small 2cm x 2cm chip on the globe part itself (please see image).
