Hyattsville, Maryland – Senator Millard E. Tydings, mopping his brow after delivering an impassioned speech here, August 31, in his fight for re-election to the United States Senate. His bitter campaign, in which he has hurled charges of "carpet-bagging" at President Roosevelt, may be decided when the President makes a personal appeal for Representative David Lewis, New Deal candidate for the nomination, on the Eastern shore, a pro-Tydings sector of the state. Photo measures 6 x 8 inches. Photo Is dated 1938.
