Vintage Indian wooden toy wheeled horse. Highly decorative, traditional Rajasthani design. 

This highly decorative Indian toy rocking horse has just been sourced from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, the design of which  dates back to the 1970s or perhaps 80s. 

It's unusual in that toy horses like this have been made by the same New Delhi family for decades, the very last family to do so. This means they are made to the same exacting standards, the quality of painting of a standard just not replicated today.

This horse displays a lovely distressed patination with crackled painted surface.
